HELP: HOW TO CREATE ACCOUNT IN GAMEPLAN

IMPORTANT: The GamePlan creation step is only for members that don’t yet have an account. If you completed the exam on GamePlan last year, you already have an account and should use their login details to access the exam.

For officials that are not yet on Game Plan, you are responsible for registering for their own account. There is personal information that these people need to complete when registering for an account and hence we ask that they create their own accounts. Once an official creates a profile their account is set to the correct NOCP Level based on the membership lists that each province sends Canada Basketball.

Thank you to everyone for your commitment to the game of basketball in Canada, as well as your dedication to learning the FIBA Rules and official’s development.

4) The exam consists of 50 «YES-NO» questions.  There will be a 120 minute time limit for this exam.

5) National Tournaments: Any official who is assigned to games at the national level is required to write the national FIBA exam and receive a minimum score in order to receive assignments.  The minimum score for officials in consideration to receive national assignments is 86%.

INSTRUCTIONS ON ACCESSING THE FIBA EXAM:

1. Go to CABO website at http://www.cabocanada.org/

4. The password for MABO Full members is MB123.  “MB” is uppercase (no spaces).

5. ALL information on the login screen is mandatory to help your Provincial Interpreter in sorting the results. Use the local association you officiate in for the “Association” info.

6. Once started, you have 2 hours to finish - you may save and exit, but the clock does NOT stop.  Write down the access code before starting the test (the code is case sensitive). When you log back in (using the code) you will only have the remaining time from your initial 2 hours. Ex: You have been writing the exam for 15 minutes and you have to take an important phone call so you save and exit the exam.  After 15 minutes you return to your exam using the access code.  You will only have 1 hour and 30 minutes left to complete the exam.

11. When finished and satisfied please submit the exam. Your score will be totaled and shown to you upon completion (#correct out of 50 and %) - but you will NOT be able to review the exam until January.  Your mark will also be posted on your profile section of the MABO website.

13. Your exam and results will be emailed to your Provincial Interpreter for evaluation.

14. If you skip a question on the exam the test program does NOT inform you after you have answered the 50th question.  If you hit submit, the skipped question will be listed as answered incorrect.  Please make sure you back track and review to make sure every question is answered.

15. Deadline to write the exam and any rewrites is December 31, 2011.  No extensions will be made.

16. If you have any questions please contact Cam Moskal, MABO Provincial Interpreter, moskalc@shaw.ca or 204-667-5542.

MABO is providing an update regarding the ongoing challenges officials are experiencing when accessing Game Plan to write the exam. The slower performance and access issues are due to significantly increased traffic, as many officials are using the platform during this final week of the exam period causing it to crash at times.

The developer is doing as much as possible to improve the system’s efficiency and ensure it remains operational and running.

To accommodate these challenges, we will be extending the exam deadline to Tuesday, December 17, until 5 PM ET. Please note, this will be the final extension of the deadline. We hope this will help offset some traffic and allow officials to gain access to game plan.

Please do not email exam support to report that the website is down.  They are already aware of the delays and are addressing them as they arise. Instead, please direct them to use the support email for specific issues such as:

  • Lost passwords/username
  • Incorrect access to the NOCP exam level
  • Other technical exam-related concerns

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by these delays. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Exam Support remains available to assist Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM ET.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to :

CABO has decided to extend the exam period to finish on December 20th. It is still recommended that you complete it as early as possible as support on the last day will end at 10am EST. Follow the instructions on the website (they were also sent to each registered official) to access your profile and the exam.

We are a quarter of the way through the period of our 208 registered members only 15 members have completed the exam. If you choose to wait, you risk not being able to complete the exam.

______

This is the time of year when we typically prepare to officiate basketball at high schools, senior leagues and in minor leagues. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic it means that the 2020- 2021 year is anything but typical.  Due to the uncertainty our sport is facing, MABO is pleased to provide three different registration options for our members:

Option #1- Full Registration.  Register and pay the full fee of $90 – this includes MABO, Canada Basketball, CBOC and Basketball Manitoba fees for the year – includes a $10 discount.  Option included a virtual clinic hosted by MABO.  Clinic details are below.

Option #2- Partial Registration.  Register and pay an early bird clinic membership fee this year of $25 now and then when basketball returns, members will need to submit the remainder $65 to MABO to maintain full membership status.

Option #3- Friends of MABO.  Members stay on the MABO mailing list which allows members to be updated with what’s happening in basketball in the province. Once Basketball returns, members would need to register and pay $100 to complete the clinic and receive all the resources of a MABO member.

Virtual Clinic for Options #1 and #2: (Additional virtual clinics may be added in the future)

  • CLINIC #1: Consists of 3 sessions.
    • Dates: Wed Nov 18, Wed Nov 25, Wed Dec 2 (attend ALL 3 dates online)
    • Time: 7:00 pm
    • Location: Zoom online

Registration deadline is November 4th, 2020. The first clinic of 3 sessions is limited to the first 100 registrants, based on registrations we will consider adding more clinic sessions.

On behalf of MABO, I encourage everyone to register for the clinic, to continue to develop their game, and to complete the exam so that we are ready when the game of Basketball does return at any and all levels.

MABO is offering current members that would benefit from having the 2014 CABO exam offered orally the opportunity to do that.  This will be offered only once on Thursday, November 27th at 6:30pm at Vincent Massey Collegiate, 975 Dowker Avenue.

The questions will be read, verbatim, to all attending members but no clarification on questions will be provided.  Participants will login using their credentials sent to them on or around November 12th and complete the exam online.  This will be a proctored exam and use of rulebooks is not permitted.

If you want to take advantage of this, please e-mail Provincial Interpreter, Martha Bradbury, at mbradbury@shaw.ca by November 25th.  Only pre-registered members that provided notification will be allowed to participate.  If no member responds, the session will be cancelled and all members will be expected to complete the exam online, on their own, by December 15th.
