The following information is provided for the MABO membership who regularly works at the high school basketball level of Manitoba by MABO, provincial interpreter, Darren Patkau.

Live Ball

The Shot Clock is reset to 24 seconds for all Varsity levels and 30 seconds at the JV level if the ball hits the rim or there is a change in possession.

Dead Ball

If there is a change in possession because of a foul, out of bounds or violation then the Shot Clock is reset to 14 seconds.

After the ball hits the rim and the ball is knocked out of bounds by the defence, the shot clock will be reset to 14 seconds.

If the Ball hits the rim and the offensive team gains control for any length of time (this doesn’t include being tipped around to try and gain control of the rebound), and then the ball is knocked out of bounds by the defence, the shot clock operator is to leave the shot clock were it is.

If there any questions or confusion please contact Darren at provincialinterpreter@maboref.com.
