The Manitoba Association of Basketball Officials has announced it will host its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 7:00 pm at Sport Manitoba (Lower Level Conference Centre at 145 Pacific Ave) and on Zoom.  If you are currently a MABO member and wish to attend the AGM and vote, please register by Friday, June 19, at 4:30 pm.

Also, this is a reminder to all MABO delegates to read through the AGM Package, which can be found below. (Documents will be added as the meeting draws near.)  


2026 MABO AGM

Nomination Deadline: Friday, June 12, 2026

Registration Deadline: Friday, June 19, 2026

AGM Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2026

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Sport Manitoba and Virtual via Zoom


The deadline to register is Friday, June 19 at 4:30 pm


UPDATED: Currently, there are FIVE Executive Positions up for election. Those positions are: (names will be updated up to the AGM with those who have let their names stand or who have been nominated)

MABO is seeking nominations from any member in good standing for these positions. All nominees must be current MABO members in good standing. If you would like to nominate someone, please forward their name to Dwight MacNeil, MABO Secretary: dwightmacneil@gmail.com, no later than Friday, June 12, 2026. Nominations can also be made at the AGM.  Thank you for taking the time to consider nominees who will help support basketball officials in Manitoba.

UPDATE: MABO Candidates for Board of Directors

The following candidates have submitted their names to stand for the positions noted.  These candidates have met the MABO membership requirements of being an active or associate member, from the MABO bylaws:

5.1.1 Active Member

To become an Active Member, an individual must:

  • A. Pay the annual MABO membership fees for Active Members.
  • B. Have an interest in the game of basketball and the spirit of its rules.
  • C. Be prepared to continually assess and attempt to improve his/her knowledge of officiating.
  • D. Be prepared to continually assess and attempt to improve his/her ability as an official and/or as an evaluator.
  • E. Write the NBO FIBA rules examination each year.
  • F. Attend an annual MABO Board-approved clinic at the appropriate level.
  • G. Be an active, on-floor official

An Active Member shall be entitled to a vote at meetings of the Association and hold office as a voting member of the Board.

OR

5.1.2 Associate Member

Membership is available for those individuals who are no longer active on-court officials, but remain involved with the association and ultimately require being members of MABO. To become an Associate Member an individual must:

  • A. Pay the annual MABO membership fees for Associate Members and the NBO fees for NBO membership and Basketball Manitoba membership.
  • B. Have an interest in the game of basketball and the spirit of its rules.
  • C. Be prepared to continually assess and attempt to improve his/her knowledge of officiating.
  • D. Write and pass the NBO FIBA rules examination each year.
  • E. Attend an annual MABO Board-approved clinic at the appropriate level
  • F. Non-active, former on floor official.
  • MABO sets it own fees for this group An Associate Member shall be entitled to a vote at meetings of the Association and hold office as a voting member of the Board.

Based on the above, the nominating committee endorses these candidates:

  • Treasurer (Stan Majowski)
  • Secretary (Dwight MacNeil)
  • Director of Clinics (Jason Glowasky)
  • Director of Evaluations (Wayne Elias, Jody Jury)
  • Member at Large (Shawn Woloski)

All positions are for a two-year term.
