Sport Manitoba is working with all sport associations to foster more respect for officials in our province so that we can get on with the game!  At the heart of this initiative is a new training workshop for officials: ReferEase. It’s for officials of all ages and in any sport. You have the technical training, you know the rules. This course is here to empower you to bring the “Ease” back into officiating. For full details including a list of upcoming seminars...

What it’s about:
ReferEase is a 3-hour training workshop for officials to explore ways you can interact effectively with coaches, parents and athletes. This workshop offers you:
  • Easy tips for creating a positive first impression,
  • A closer look at “the brain on sports” and why people lose their cool,
  • Specific words to avoid when giving instructions and the key phrases you can use to get things to go your way,
  • A constructive approach for deflecting verbal abuse and threats
  • Plus proven tools that drive a positive environment of confidence for all
You’ll get a chance to meet officials from different sports and share tools and ideas on how you can promote the fair play spirit throughout our Manitoba gyms, arenas and fields!
