      For Secretary: Ryan Wiebe

My name is Ryan Wiebe. I am an official in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference. I was fortunate to play 4 years in the MCAC and am now trying to give back to the game that I fell in love with as a player, by officiating. I have just finished my third season in WWAC and have had the opportunity to improve and grow as an official over those three seasons. I am continually looking for ways to push myself and become a higher-level official, and with that, I am also looking to become more involved in the officiating community. With that, comes my desire to become involved with the MABO Executive in the role of Secretary. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from other members of the MABO Executive and to continue to give back to basketball in Manitoba.
During my day to day life I work as an Educational Assistant in the Pembina Trails School Division, working with children who have special needs. Part of my role as an EA is to help observe and document the progress of the students I work with, which I believe will help me in the role of Secretary.

      For Treasurer: Mark Adams

I have been an official in the SCAC for the past 10 or 11 years. During this time, I was the MABO independent financial reviewer for a couple of years and have been on the MABO finance committee for the past 4 years or so. I have an understanding of the accounting system Justin has been using up to now.

I was also an official in the mid to late 1970s and was on the board of the MBOA at that time. I have served on many boards in the position of Treasurer. I served on the board of the Fort Garry North Hockey Association and the Pembina Trails Hockey Association. Also as President of the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce and more recently as President of The Jubilee Fund Inc. (A not for profit organization)

From a professional standpoint, I recently retired from a 43-year banking career. During that time I was in senior management positions handling consumer, commercial and private wealth portfolios, active in lending, deposits and investments. My position at the time of retirement was Director, Prairie Region, CIBC Private Wealth Management. My professional designations include a Fellow of the Institute of Canadians Bankers (FICB) as well as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI)

I have a strong understanding of accounting practices and financial statements.  I am married to Nan with three grown sons.

I look forward to the opportunity to be an active member of the board should I be elected.
