Basketball Manitoba and MABO are pleased to support the Junior Officials Development Program.  The JODP is designed to improve the overall level of officiating in the Junior High / Middle School & Minor basketball leagues.

LEVEL 1
Purpose    
  • To prepare young or new officials to officiate minor basketball.
Criteria    
  • Beginning or new official, with no prior certification with MABO.
  • Minimum age requirement – 15 years old, as of December 31st of the clinic year.
Requirements for Junior Level 1 Certification
  • Must attend and participate in all sessions of an annual Junior clinic conducted by a certified MABO Clinician.
  • Must write a MABO approved examination supervised by a certified Clinician.
  • Receive two positive floor evaluations at the minor basketball level or receive a written recommendation from a MABO-certified evaluator/assignor.

LEVEL 2
Purpose    
  • To prepare young or new officials to officiate minor basketball.
Criteria    
  • Minimum age requirement – 17 years old, as of December 31st.
  • Must be fully certified at Junior Level I and have attended a minimum of two JODP Clinics in the past.
        OR
  • May be a beginning or new official, with no prior certification with MABO, only if written recommendation has been received from a MABO-certified evaluator/assignor.
Requirements for Junior Level 2 Certification
  • Must attend and participate in all sessions of an annual Junior clinic conducted by a certified MABO Clinician.
  • Must write a MABO approved examination supervised by a certified Clinician.
  • Receive two positive floor evaluations at the minor basketball level or receive a written recommendation from a MABO-certified evaluator/assignor.
