Basketball Uniform and Equipment Modifications - MABO Interpretation

Further to the information provided yesterday from Basketball Manitoba for Uniform and Equipment Modifications, below is meant to provide additional clarification:

    Red Font Updated January 2018

HIGH SCHOOL: PERMITTED. Standard T-shirt permitted.  Must all be black, white or dominant uniform colour.  Team must all wear the same colour.  Player must wear same colour on upper and lower body.  Players allowed to play, but infractions to be noted on the scoresheet. – while the direction provided to the teams is that they should comply, they will be permitted to wear whatever they like from player-to-player. MHSAA asks an official to approach a coach advising on the equipment non-compliance and ONLY having to note infractions on the score sheets during the MHSAA provincial championships of which teams in violation of the rules may be fined.  At the Provincial Championships, the referee will note on the back of the white scoresheet the number of players per team that do not comply to the rule as outlined (in bold) – i.e. TEAM NAME – X players not uniform/equipment compliant.

CLUB - T-shirts are permitted but must be black, white or dominant uniform colour.  For t-shirts, team must all wear the same colour.  For arms and legs, permitted but must be black, white or dominant uniform colour. For accessories - no matching team colour restriction.  Player must wear same colour on upper and lower body. – No option for not complying. Players must comply or not play. Work with the coach on compliance prior to the game.

Community Club (WMBA) and Jr High anything goes. No requirement by the officials for enforcement.
