As most of you are now aware, the Manitoba Association of Basketball Officials (MABO) will be commencing its 2nd Annual ‘Call A Foul On Cancer’ Pink Whistle Campaign this Wednesday February 1, 2012, in support of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Participating MABO Officials will be wearing ‘Pink Whistles’ from February 1 – 14 to show their support during all levels of basketball in the province.  As mentioned, we would love to surpass last year’s donation of $4,546.

We are pleased to report that 137 MABO officials have confirmed their donation and participation in this year’s campaign!  We would like to thank the following officials associations/regions for their contribution:

  • KPAC – 40 officials
  • WWAC – 11 officials
  • SCAC – 15 officials
  • Winnipeg #1 – 15 officials
  • Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association (WMBA) – 30 officials
  • Westman (WBOA) – 9 officials
  • Central (PBOA) – 9 officials
  • Eastman - 8 officials

If you have missed the deadline and would still like to participate, please contact your Assignor to arrange for your pink whistle and lanyard – we have extras on hand!

PLEASE REMEMBER:  MABO has approved the use of the Pink Whistle during ALL games from February 1-14, 2012 ONLY.

To surpass our fundraising goal from last year, we encourage you to pass this information on to your family and friends and encourage them to donate online by clicking on this link: Call A Foul On Cancer, or by visiting www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca, clicking the ‘Donate Now’ button and selecting the 'Call A Foul On Cancer 2012' link from the right side of the page.  Alternatively, they may call the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation office at 204-787-4143.  Canadian tax receipts will be issued for all donations over $15.00.
